Herbal Medicine is a natural medicine also known as botanical medicine, phytotherapy or phytomedicine – involves using a plant or part of a plant for healing purposes.

Herbal Medicine use medicinal herbs to prevent and treat diseases and ailments or to promote health and healing.

Herbal medicine is less likely to cause side effects as the whole plant is used in preparation. Typically  fewer sides effects and safer to use over long time.

It’s natural and better recognised by our bodies.

Under herbalist supervision it may be used along other medicines.

A lot of herbs are scientifically validated with new research emerging every day.

Consultation takes about 1-1.5 hours. During the consultation questions will be asked about your current health and previous health problems, your family health, lifestyle, diet. The practitioner will check your blood pressure, and your pulse and tongue for traditional Chinese diagnosis. Any prescribed medication you are taking at the moment will be taken in consideration to ensure will be no interactions with herbal medicine and supplements.

Treatment plan addresses specific health needs and concerns and usually comprises of dietary and lifestyle advice, supplements, herbal medicine formula and if required, herbal cream or tea. Bach flowers could be added to the formula, if there is a need for them.

You will be asked to come for a follow up in 2-4 weeks time. Acute conditions normally do not require follow up consultation. Where somebody with chronic condition needs to commit themselves to see herbalist for at least 2 follow up consultations.

Naturopathy is a combination of natural therapies such as nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, hydrotherapy etc. which aims to create suitable environment to help the body heal naturally.

Naturopathy concentrates on the cause of the disease rather than treating symptoms only.

Naturopathic treatment is individually tailored to each patient. It is a patient treated and not the disease.
