Food sensitivity differs from food allergy.
An allergic reaction happens immediately after eating food. It can cause vomiting, diarrhea, rash, swelling of the mouth and tongue. In severe cases it could be life threatening.
Food sensitivity on the other hand doesn’t show symptoms immediately after ingesting offending food. The reaction is often delayed by 24 or 48 hours. Major symptom of food sensitivity is inflammation. It can occur anywhere in the body and it builds up over time. Many chronic conditions with symptoms of inflammation such as heat, redness, pain, and swelling are potentially associated with chronic conditions.
Conditions primarily associated with food sensitivity: Sinusitis, Indigestion, Tiredness, PMT, Hormone imbalance, Bowel disorders, Thyroid disease, Candida, Asthma, Stomach complaints, Acne, Stomach complaints, Infections, ME, Skin problems, Excess weight, Arthritis.
Identifying and eliminating food for a period of time will stop the production of antibodies that cause inflammation.
For the test a few pin-prick samples of blood are collected and sent to the laboratory. Results with the explanatory book are back in two weeks.
